Why We Make in Small Batches

Small batch production is sometimes talked about as a purely ethical stance. For us it started as a practical one: it is the only way we know to keep a single machinist responsible for a garment from start to finish, and to catch a fit problem before fifty units exist instead of after.

The side effect is that pieces take longer to reach a rail, and quantities are limited once they do. We think that trade off is worth making. A smaller, better made collection asks more of us and, we hope, gives more back to whoever eventually wears it.
